ST. PETER

CODE OF CONDUCT
St. Peter Academy is a unique educational institution in which the spirit of Christ-Like charity, respect for authority and mutual cooperation are essential. Students are expected to manifest self discipline and act with courtesy and respect toward their teachers and one another. In order for the Academy to function as a place of learning and mutual respect, the following code of conduct has been adopted, this code should be viewed as a positive approach to developing attitudes and laying the foundation for a more rewarding life.
Students are required to: Actively participate in the learning process; address staff properly; be prepared for class; be in seats prior to the AM bell; respect school, staff, and students' property; use appropriate language, be appropriately dressed; attend school regularly; refrain from fighting and rough-housing; and treat others with respect.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
One of the main purposes of the Academy is to provide each student with the best educational opportunity available. In order to do this and to accomplish the goals of our philosophy, discipline must be maintained in the school, and self-discipline must be developed by each student. No student will be allowed to disrupt the educational process of others. All school rules apply to student conduct on the way to and from school.
In order to promote fairness and consistency to all students, Conduct Code infractions and consequences are listed below. These examples of unacceptable behavior will serve as guides for those administering the rules of discipline. They are not binding to the extent that they rule out common sense and good judgment but are cited in an effort to achieve fairness and consistency. Each incidence is considered independently of others with respect to its severity, exact nature, setting and past performance.
The exact number of days for in-school and out-of-school suspensions may vary due to the details of each situation and will be determined by the administration.
