The World of Mathematics is an intriguing science, which leads the student to focus and explore the concept and use of numbers. On the primary level, manipulatives and concrete examples enable students to grasp concepts. As they advance to the middle and upper grades more abstract and independent problem solving and life skills are developed. In the middle and upper grades the scope and sequence includes Algebra and algebraic expressions, calculator skills, concepts and all aspects of computation. The use of the computer and the smartboard enhances the teaching of this subject.		This program provides a strong foundation of listening, speaking and thinking skills in order to prepare children for reading, writing an further language study. The series provides lessons in basic sentence structure, nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs. After learning the various parts of speech, the students use this knowledge to write short descriptive stories, book reports and letter writing. After completing many of these assignments, students then make use of the computer to type their stories and add graphics. Loyola Press - Voyages in English (2nd - 8th Grade) This program provides the tools for instruction and practice to master critical grammar skills and the entire writing process. The program integrates grammar and writing skills. The segment on creative writing helps the student become proficient in writing essays, descriptive narratives and other informative and persuasive forms of writing. Students use the Internet and computers to complete the various assignments in the creative writing classes.
