July - 2008                                  Vol. 17 No. 1

  WELCOME -

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time. Enthusiasm and expectations are high. Parents, students and teachers share the hope that this year will bring outstanding achievement in education, in community spirit, and in affirming our faith in God.

Realization of that hope requires both commitment and a plan of action. Your prayers, your participation as a volunteer, and your spirit of cooperation are essential to its success. We plan our curriculum to meet the high standards which characterize Catholic education. Our goals focus on areas of knowledge to be studied, skills to be acquired, and habits and attitudes to be developed.

One key area we  will actively reinforce at home is the development of a sense of individual responsibility. The increasing tendency to blame other people or life situations for individual actions can lead to a complete breakdown in morals. Let us work together to help our young people realize that they make choices and must accept responsibility for those choices. Their sense of self-esteem should come from adherence to such values as compassion, honor, decency, loyalty and generosity.

FULL UNIFORM MUST BE WORN

We are grateful to these teachers who have embraced the Ministry of Catholic Education. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the example of the Master Teacher, Jesus, we anticipate a grace-filled year.
